The toughest job in rugby?


One of the key aspects of this blog is to help bridge the gap between the coaches and players perspective and that of the referee. Everyone, no matter the level, aims to achive the highest point they can.

For every level the player, coach or ref goes up, the intensity, pace and pressure increase.  But just what atributes make a top International Referee? What tools do they rely on to complete the game?  What more can referees do to bridge the gaps in the game?

Alan Lewis, formerly an International Cricketer with over 100 caps for Ireland, and now an International Referee for over 13 years provides great insight in his interview with the BBC.
